Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Watermelon
Happy Fourth of July travelgirls! Whether you are traveling across the planet, or just across the street for a backyard barbecue, enjoy the celebration!
Here are just a few of the things I am thankful that we have that our brave Founding Fathers
did not on July 4, 1776.
• Air conditioning. How did they stand it, especially in those fancy pants ruffled blouses and
long black jackets?
• Airplanes. So air travel isn't so much fun these days. Would you rather travel for weeks on a horse to get anywhere? Or as was more common in our agrarian society, never go anywhere because someone had to milk the cows and tend the fields
• 22,798 types of ice cream. Okay so I made that number up. But access to readily available frozen treats is one of the big bonuses of modern life. What are you thankful for?

So you may lose the elements of surprise and intimacy, but these proposals are sure to be memorable. Ten couples will win a trip to Las Vegas where the men will simultaneously propose in front of the Trevi Fountain at The Forum Shops at Caesars on 10-10-10 at 10:10 a.m. The couples get a two-night stay at Caesars Palace, dinner at The Palm and gifts from retailers at The Forum Shops. Go to www.101010at1010am.com by July 23 and submit an essay of 110 words or less explaining why you deserve to be part of this event. For more information on this event, go to www.forumshops.com.

Pick of the Week
Wish I'd had this book when I needed it! The Frisky 30-Day Breakup Guide by Jamie Beckman offers "One Month of Manicure, Massages and Mojitos to Help You Forget About Him." This clever book gives you one assignment a day to help you over the heartbreak, along with a calendar, advice from psychology professionals and tips from other women. Here is one of my favorites, a tip for NOT calling your ex: "I change his name in my cell to 'Insecure" or "Do Not Call" or "Eff This Guy." This along with the cute illustrations, photos and yes, even recipes will ease the process along. $10.17 at Amazon.com
