Atlanta Arts Festival Returns
One of my favorite events of the year, the Atlanta Arts Festival is September 18 and 19 in Piedmont Park. More than 200 artists will be spread around the city's most beautiful park, while visitors can also enjoy live music, expert artisans at work and even sip a cold one in the Beer Garden & Theatrical Café. The younger crowd can release the artist within at the Creation Station. The over-21 crowd can create its own art at the Sips n Stokes classes where you can enjoy wine while learning from instructors. The festival is free; tickets to Sips n Strokes are $25. We're Still Being Good, Santa
If you were in Copenhagen this week you may have been seeing red. It was the location of the 53rd World Santa Claus Conference. Every year more than 200 professional Santas from around the world take a break at the Bakken amusement park to attend parades, charity events, network and just have a jolly time. I am quite intrigued by what some of the topics discussed may be – Reindeer discipline and motivation techniques? How to lose that Christmas cookie belly? Pick of the Week
I'd just about given up walking my 85-pound black lab Riley after he saw a squirrel and dragged me into my neighbor's front yard where I landed in a most ungraceful heap. But now we have The Perfect Leash from Just Ducky Products and Riley is out of the doghouse and back on the circuit around the hood. First of all the leash is shorter, so the dog must remain closer to you. But the main advantage is it is made from polyurethane, so will stretch when he gets an urge to dart. Available in red, black, yellow and blue for $24.99 at http://www.justduckyproducts.com/products.html
