Crystal River Rapids, a new action water attraction, will open March 1 at the Cypress Springs Water Park, which is part of the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center’s in Kissimmee, FL. The attraction is part of a $158 million expansion, the largest in the resort’s history.
In addition to the water ride, guests will be able to enjoy American fare at the new Crystal River Refreshments, two spas with massage jets and 360-degree views of the Cypress Springs Water Park and a variety of upgraded pool seating options.The Crystal River Rapids takes guests on a thrilling ride that twists and turns through speeding currents at three-and-a-half feet per second.
The resort’s full expansion will be completed later in 2021 with an additional 96,000 square feet of meeting and pre-function space as well as 302 guest rooms in the new Gulf Coast tower, which is adjacent to the resort’s pools. When completed, Gaylord Palms will offer 1,717 guest rooms.
