Winterfest comes to Nashville

Gaylord Opryland’s inaugural Winterfest programs will start Jan. 8 and run through March 21 on Thursday through Sundays. Guests can enjoy a wide variety of indoor and outdoor family-friendly activities such as ice tubing, skating and ice bumper cars, along with a Jack Frost-Theme scavenger hunt inside the resort.
   Many of the activities take place at Pinetop, an outdoor village where there will be oversized winter light displays, live performances, tubing, skating and lessons, along with winter beverages. In addition the Fire & Ice Skating Show featuring champion skaters will thrill audiences with spins, throws and lifts.
   Other fun activities at Gaylord Opryland, which is not located in downtown Nashville, include the Winter Riverboat Ride in the 4.5 acre Delta Atrium and the Wildlife Rescue Experience presently by bubly™ where guest track down endangered species with the help of guid and learn about ensuring that thy are monitored for their protection.
   Stays for a winter getaway start at $230 for a one-night accommodation plus one-day ticket for unlimited ice skating and tubing. Individual tickets for select Winterfest activities are also available.
